Changing Colleges, New Alexandrians

February will bring with it some rather substantial changes.  First, Alex and Eric are moving to Alexandria next week.  Their teaching positions in Mansoura did not work out as Fulbright intended and so they are coming to work at Alexandria University for the spring semester.  After many days of searching, Alex found a bachelor pad (I mean apartment) which happens to be a whole ten minute walk (at an Egyptian pace, so really 6 minutes) from Grace’s and my apartment.  In addition to increasing the American quota by two fold in our neighborhood, they will be joining us at the university, but with a few changes.  Grace will be keeping her spring schedule as it is (which is actually not quite determined yet-- that’s Egypt), Eric is supposed to be teaching in the faculty of commerce, and Alex will be taking my schedule at the faculty of education.  This means that I am without a job… just kidding, that was just wishful thinking.  No, actually I am supposedly being placed in the faculty of science.  I am really excited about this because the plan is for me to work with mathematics students, and you know how much of a math nerd I am!!!  I have yet to receive word from my new supervisor, but the semester doesn’t start for over two weeks, so I am not worried yet.  I will address the situation if necessary after my parents leave because for those two weeks I am going to pretend that I too am on vacation.
